Anders Björkman received his MD at Lund University, Sweden in 1995. He was board certified in Orthopaedics in 2002 and in Hand Surgery in 2004. After presenting his thesis “Brain plasticity and hand function” he received his PhD at Lund University in 2005. He is currently an Adjunct Professor in Hand Surgery at Lund University. His clinical and research work is focused on: advanced nerve reconstruction in the hand and arm; the use of guided brain plasticity techniques to improve rehabilitation following peripheral nerve injury; neuroimaging; and development of hand prostheses.
