Andrea Mannini received the B.Sc. and the M.Sc. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pisa (Italy) in 2006 and 2009, respectively, and the Ph.D. in Biorobotics from the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy, 2013. He is currently Assistant Professor at The BioRobotics Institute, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy. He joined the Sensor Signals and Information Processing Area of the BioRobotics Institute in 2009 working on machine learning methods for human activity recognition and analysis using wearable sensors data. He also joined the Artificial Hands Area in 2017, applying his interest in machine learning methods to the processing of electromyography and inertial sensors signals to improve the control features of robotic prostheses.
