Marco Controzzi received the B.Sc. and the M.Sc. degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Pisa (Italy) in 2005 and 2008, respectively, and the Ph.D. in Biorobotics from the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy, 2013.
He is currently Assistant Professor at The BioRobotics Institute, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy. He joined the ARTS-Lab of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in 2006 as Research Assistant, and since the 2008 is leading the mechanical design of the robot hands developed at the BioRobotics Institute. His research interests are focused on the design of rehabilitation devices, robot hands to be used as thought-controlled prostheses and as end-effector for robots, and sensors. Dr. Controzzi is founder of a spin-off company of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna: Prensilia SRL.
