Assoc. Prof., MD, MSc, PhD senior consultant at C.A.R.E., Sahlgrenska University Hospital and Assoc. Prof. at the Dept. of Orthopaedics, Gothenburg University. Presently visiting Assoc. Prof. at the Dept. of Orthopedic Surgery at University of California, SF. He has pioneered the studies on titanium implants to anchor limb prostheses for over 20 years. He has himself carried out more than 200 operations and lead surgeon team that in 2013 for the first time in the world implanted muscle and nerve electrodes in an amputee with an osseointegrated implant to improve the control of the prosthetic arm. As the most experienced surgeon in this field, Dr. has been rewarded with the Hanger Prize (2007) for his contribution in amputation research.
